Hands-on: Mastering single-plane balancing

Jason Tranter, Founder and CEO, Mobius Institute

Description

Balancing is one of the core skills all vibration analysts must have, and reliability specialists must understand what “precision” balancing means. This 45-minute presentation will explain how to verify that a rotor needs to be balanced, the single-plane balancing method, and in brief, how to achieve a precision balance. The session will be aided by a new Mobius software simulator that makes the vector method incredibly simple, and by “Elvis”, the new test-rig that will be balanced during the session. This session will be restricted in numbers. The first 15 people can participate in the balancing process; so you won’t just learn, you will get to do it. That’s why we will run this session twice.
