Data science work in heavy industry is not fully leveraged in operational decision making as data scientists are often not able to connect to the end user. In this talk, I will present some of the challenges encountered, how we overcame them and the solutions developed.

Alexandra is a data scientist at Arundo, where she works with customers in asset-heavy industries to develop data-driven products which reduce unplanned downtime and optimize operations. Prior to joining Arundo, Alexandra worked in optimization and automation of mechanical analysis and design in the energy and military sectors. Alexandra holds an M.Sc. in Computational Methods from Universitet Gent, an M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering from RWTH Aachen, and a B.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in the US.
