(20 min.) Case Study: Solving Abnormal Frequency Vibration in High Speed Gearbox

Rao Vamsidhar, Assistant General Manager, Vizag Steel (RINL)

Solving gear box vibrations require input parameters, speeds, number of gear teeth and vibration data. Sometimes gears generate different frequencies which if not attended will damage the gear teeth severely causing breakdown of the gearbox. The following case study discusses about solving the abnormal frequency vibration in a high speed gearbox in an integrated steel plant in India.
