Description

Being Asset Management Team Leader responsible for the asset management system implementation for ADMA OPCO’s new fields mega projects, that involved more than 180,000 new assets, has given me an excellent opportunity to gain a very good experience in the Asset Management of EPC mega projects.
I’ve been involved in all the stages for the projects and dealt with many EPC contractors in many countries (e.g. South Korea, Singapore, India, Oman, UAE, etc.) for the implementation of the asset management system.
The presentation will cover the major challenges and lessons learnt in each phase of the projects from design till operation.
It will be conducted in light of ISO 55000 definition for “Asset Management”, going through the Asset Life Cycle, the business process for managing major projects, and examples of major challenges and lessons learnt during: Project preparatory phase, project design phase, procurement phase, construction phase and operation phase.
Examples of the subjects that will be covered:
Asset Management definition, Asset Life cycle, major projects business process, the operations integrated readiness plan, company standard engineering documents update before the projects, including asset management and reliability requirements in the project scope of work, consequences of referring to outdated standard engineering documents, lowest bidder policy effect on the project, early involvement of operations in projects, challenges and lessons learnt/best practices in establishing the asset management system during the project, dealing with the EPC Contractors, project documents control, reliability and maintainability requirements, 3D models, FAT Tests, examples of construction and commissioning lessons learnt and examples of operation phase challenges and lessons learnt.
