Development of Lubricant and Vibration Integrated Online Condition Monitoring Platform

Perry Zhan, ONYX INSIGHT AUSTRALIA PTY LTD

Description

It has long been accepted that condition- based maintenance is the most effective and cost-efficient approach to maximizing the life of industrial machinery. Vibration and lubricant analyses are two key components of any successful condition-monitor program and can be used as both predictive and proactive tools to identify active machine wear and diagnose faults occurring inside machinery. This work presented a holistic online platform that integrates these two techniques together. A cloud-based software architecture is elaborated and the hardware solution for data acquisition are detailed. The effectiveness of developed solution is analysed and evaluated using industrial planetary gearbox. It can be concluded that the proposed technology will significantly improve the visibility of mechanical equipment and provide a sure-fire way to assure the reliability of machinery.
